Inukshuk
$450.00
An inukshuk is a stone cairn or marker built by the peoples of the Arctic from Alaska to Greenland. Varying in shape and size, the inuksuit have longtime roots in the Inuit culture and continue to serve as an Inuit cultural symbol. Large cairn markers were a community effort used as a marker for travel routes, fishing places, camps, hunting grounds, places of veneration, drift fences used in hunting or to mark food stores- the inukshuk shape now also connotes friendship and cooperation.
